Dr. Phillip Ernst Dr. Phillip Ernst was raised on a farm in rural Columbus, Nebraska. He graduated from Columbus High School. Following high school he attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, majoring in mathematics. He earned his Bachelor’s Science Degree with Cum Laude distinction. He also attended Creighton Dental School where he received his Doctorate Degree in Dentistry. After graduation he enrolled in the University of Minnesota’s Graduate Program in Periodontics, where he received his Master of Science Degree. After practicing as an associate in Minnesota for 3 years, Dr. Ernst later returned to Columbus and opened his business in Norfolk and Columbus, where he currently has practiced for fifteen years. Dr. Ernst maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Nebraska Dental Association and attends numerous continuing educational courses. He recently has become laser certified. He and his family reside in Columbus where they are very active in their church and their childrens’ school functions.

Kathy started working in Dr. Ernst’s office in 1992. She obtained a dental assisting degree from Mid Plains Community College in North Platte. Kathy previously worked in general dentistry for 7 years before joining Dr. Ernst. She currently works in our Norfolk office as our receptionist, where she files insurance and handles a variety of other office tasks. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and is very active in her church.

Julie started working with Dr. Ernst in 1995. She graduated from Associated Schools in Florida. After returning to the Norfolk area she worked for a general dentist for 3 years. Julie obtained her Dental Radiology Certificate in 1995 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. Julie works in both the Columbus and Norfolk offices as a receptionist and dental assistant. The most important things in her life are family, friends, and church.

Robin started working for Dr. Ernst in 1994 as a dental hygienist. She attended Oral Robert’s University for 3 years, before attending University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry where she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in dental hygiene, and a minor in psychology. This is Robin’s 19th year of practice. Robin works in our Norfolk office part time and also in a general practice office. Robin enjoys singing in her contemporary Christian band, Crossfire, and spending her time reading, and seeking antiques. She treasures quality time with her husband and two teenage children.

Sharon started working in our Columbus office in 2006. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Life Sciences and a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. Sharon worked as a laboratory technician and a Microbiologist prior to coming to the office. Sharon helps to keep the office up to date with the OSHA and HIPPA requirements, and does other various office duties. Her hobbies include family, playing the piano, and sewing.

Sonja started working in our Columbus office as a dental hygienist in August 2006. She graduated with an associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene in May 2006. She received her license to practice dental hygiene in July 2006. Sonja also works for a general dentist in Columbus. Sonja enjoys spending her time with family and friends and doing scrapbooking.
